Duties
- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 932 MDG, ensuring that the 932 MDG complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
- As supervisory medical administrative specialist directs subordinate employees engaged in administration, logistics, resource management, and medical paraprofessional activities.
- Coordinates fiscal, facility and instructor requirements to support Medical Readiness, Ancillary and On-the-Job Training (OJT) requirements.
- Manages and monitors group manpower resources and allocations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include: (1) works with a wide range of medical administrative technical concepts, theories, procedures and techniques, medical operations and management principles, policies and procedures, medical plans, programs, and requirements. (2) works with pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources pertaining to medical operations, and a practical understanding of Medical Service mission, organization, programs, and function. and (3) works with analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency, effectiveness, and mission preparedness of medical program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions, as well as a specialized knowledge of wartime medical operations and missions.

EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or LL.M which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, if related. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of medical administrative technical concepts, theories, procedures and techniques, knowledge of medical operations and management principles, policies and procedures, and knowledge of medical plans, programs, and requirements.
2. Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources pertaining to medical operations, and a practical understanding of Air Force Reserve Medical Service mission, organization, programs, and function.
3. Knowledge of Air Force medical exercise and contingency planning and programming concepts and a thorough knowledge of squadron's medical mission, equipment specifications, resource allocation, and operational parameters.
4. Knowledge of medical administrative programs and various other administrative programs throughout the Air Force Reserve, in order to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive program changes within the group.
5. Knowledge of and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues concerning the efficiency, effectiveness, and mission preparedness of medical program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions, as well as a specialized knowledge of wartime medical operations and missions.
6. Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing and skill to prepare project/staff reports and to deliver briefings. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
