Environmental Planner
Cherokee Nation Government Services (CNGS) is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join our team supporting the AFIMSC Det 2 in the Pacific region. The candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and executing U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Space Force (USSF) environmental programs. This role involves providing full-time, on-site NEPA technical services, conducting NEPA analyses, facilitating the NEPA process, and supporting environmental baseline surveys. The Senior Environmental Planner will ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, review externally produced documents, and work collaboratively with a team to accomplish deliverables.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Environmental Planner: $145,000 to $165,000. Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Environmental Planner Responsibilities Include:
- Provide full-time, on-site NEPA technical services
- Conduct NEPA analyses for testing and training exercises, resource management plans, and project siting or construction activities
- Collect and analyze data, prepare required documents, and facilitate the NEPA process including public meetings and cultural consultations
- Support environmental baseline surveys
- Provide planning and decision support, technical reviews, data submissions, meeting support, coordination activities, and plans and permits support
- Ensure work products comply with environmental regulations and policies
- Collaborate with colleagues and multiple stakeholders to accomplish deliverables
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Environmental Planner Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in environmental planning, engineering, science, geology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, or a closely related scientific field from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years of NEPA experience
- Experience with federal projects and Pacific region preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Current USA passport or ability to obtain within five months
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD-issued CAC card (i.e., NACI/SF85); must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
