Principle Systems Engineer needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client to work on-site in Richardson, TX.

Contract Length: 12 Months

*Must have an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this role.*

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal System Engineer to join our team. The role is supporting one of our premier programs. In this role you will support advanced, leading-edge, software system development by providing systems engineering support, guidance and team communication. The Principal System Engineer will contribute to a team of multi-discipline engineers on agile development teams in the accomplishment of engineering development tasks in an iterative execution method. The candidate will perform systems engineering duties to include system software requirements, derivation and analysis, development of software interface documentation, and analysis of system architectures and frameworks.

What You Will Do
  • The principal systems engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering discipline, to include support of software development activities, requirements traceability into software functions, system performance analysis, and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements achieve validation
  • The system engineer will interact with the agile development teams regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated with the system capabilities and features
  • The candidate must also possess the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the appropriate levels of the organization and support schedules and delivery milestones
  • Perform engineering activities utilizing agile tools: JIRA, CONFLUENCE, JAMA
  • Perform engineering activities utilizing Cloud environments, tools, and associated procedures

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, OR an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience performing engineering activities within the full software development engineering lifecycle utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) development methods as a System Engineer.
  • Experience with requirement creation as well as decomposition of capabilities into features and the development of acceptance criteria for software and test development teams to ensure all requirements have a path for verification via acceptance criteria.
  • Experience documenting systems interfaces, network routing details and developing system architecture artifacts, Experience in agile development activities, including requirements specification and integration test and verification activities (full life cycle)
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Intelligence Community IC) GEOINT, including familiarity with common data formats and products
  • Experience in SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT IC background analysis with end user mission experience
  • Experience in a technical leadership role of a large multi-disciplined engineering team
  • Experience with cloud - based system and S/W architectures
  • Experience with requirements management and / or backlog management and grooming in JIRA
  • Experience in Multi-INT Sensemaking, Orchestration, and Processing concepts
  • Experience in development of containerized software system architectures
  • Experience using MBSE processes and tools to digitally capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tools
