Position Overview
The ServiceNow System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the stability, usability, and performance of the ServiceNow platform. This role supports day-to-day platform operations by performing application maintenance, managing incidents related to ServiceNow applications, and contributing to ServiceNow software releases through configuration tasks and feature delivery.
The ServiceNow System Administrator applies sound technical skills to execute common configuration, maintenance, and support activities while adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and resolve incidents related to ServiceNow applications.
• Perform routine platform maintenance, including performance monitoring and error identification/remediation.
• Create and migrate Update Sets across ServiceNow instances.
• Schedule, execute, and verify instance clones.
• Participate in ServiceNow upgrade planning and execution.
• Manage instance security, including users, groups, roles, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Contribute to ServiceNow platform releases through configuration and feature support.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Active Secret clearance; must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance and DHS Suitability.
• 6+ years of systems administration experience.
• 2+ years of experience supporting ServiceNow implementations.
• 2+ years of experience with ServiceNow applications including:
o Incident Management
o Problem Management
o Change Management
o Knowledge Management
o Service Catalog
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques used in ServiceNow systems administration and support.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with process development and deployment.
• Experience with AngularJS.
• Experience with JavaScript or related application development.
• Experience using ServiceNow Development APIs.
• Experience with web service integrations (API/Web Services).
• Experience with LDAP integration.
• Experience configuring and administering Single Sign-On (SSO).
• SQL experience.
• Experience with additional ServiceNow applications, including: ITx, HR, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, Security, Asset Management (HAM/SAM), PPM, Platform/Integration, Portal/UI, and GRC
• ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certification.
• ServiceNow System Administration experience.
Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering.
Desired Certifications
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
• ITIL Foundation v4
• DoDI 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I
