Description:
Gridiron IT is looking to hire a Network Operations Center Systems Administrator to support a government program in St. Louis, MO.

Role Overview: The System Administrator for NOC/SOC Tools Support plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the systems and tools used by the Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC). This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of critical monitoring, alerting, and analysis tools used by both teams. The System Administrator works closely with NOC and SOC teams, as well as other IT professionals, to provide seamless operation of essential systems that support network and security operations. This System Administrator role is essential for maintaining the critical infrastructure that supports both NOC and SOC operations. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment to ensure the continuous operation of vital monitoring and security tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain NOC and SOC tools, including SIEM, SOAR, network monitoring, and ticketing systems
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization of NOC/SOC tools
- Tune system parameters for optimal performance and efficiency
- Implement and maintain security controls for NOC/SOC systems
- Manage user access and permissions for various tools
- Conduct regular security patching and updates
- Assist in security audits and vulnerability assessments of NOC/SOC infrastructure
- Implement and maintain high availability solutions for critical NOC/SOC tools
- Conduct regular backup and recovery tests
- Ensure proper integration between various NOC and SOC tools
- Troubleshoot integration issues and data flow problems
- Work with vendors to resolve compatibility issues
- Develop and maintain scripts for routine system administration tasks
- Implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors
- Create custom scripts for data processing, reporting, and system checks
- Monitor system resource usage and plan for future capacity needs
- Manage storage requirements for log data and other system information
- Provide tier 2/3 support to and for NOC and SOC teams on system-related issues
- Investigate and resolve complex system problems with respect to NOC and SOC (SIEM/SOAR) tools
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Ensure systems meet relevant compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS)
- Implement and maintain logging and auditing mechanisms as required by standards

Requirements:
Bachelors degree
Years of Experience: 7-12

Skills:
System Administration. Network Operations Tools, architectures and processes

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range: $70-80 hourly (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
