Description/Purpose of Position:
The Equipment Greaser is responsible for inspecting vehicles for additional repairs, draining and refilling vehicles with required amounts of oil, servicing grease fittings, universal joints and steering knuckles, lubricating moving parts with specified lubricants, inspecting fluid levels of steering gear, power steering reservoir , transmission, different ial , rear axle housing, and shackles, checking air pressure of tires, adding water to radiator and battery, and other maintenance tasks.
Education: High School diploma, or equivalent.
E xperience:
Journeyman; At least one year experience as an Equipment Greaser; Customer service experience a must. Ability to operate a forklift required.
Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to repetitively hold/balance, reach, flex, twist, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat/crouch, crawl, climb up/on and in and out of equipment/vehicles, and sit (all for short or long periods of time). Must also be able to lift objects that weigh up to 60 pounds.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of proper use of equipment and materials to perform the assigned duties and avoid health hazards to themselves and building occupants. Possess basic math skills. Must have exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
Clearance: Obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SBI security clearance
Other:
Ability to plan and organize work to ensure that all duties are completed within established time frames. Ability to perform multiple tasks and maintain schedule. Ability to read/write/speak English, read instructions, rules, etc. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and complete all assignments in a timely manner. Ability to possess professional customer service skills and independently resolve work problems/issues covered by contracts, policies, and procedures. Possess interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management. Frequent mental alertness, attention to detail, and accuracy to organize work activities and ensure all tasks are completed within established time frames while maintaining a safe work environment.
