Position Summary: The Workforce Specialist contributes to workforce capability assessments, data collection, and implementation of workforce initiatives within the VA OIT. This mid-level role provides subject matter expertise in skills mapping, workforce development, and HR program support.

Position Summary: The Workforce Specialist contributes to workforce capability assessments, data collection, and implementation of workforce initiatives within the VA OIT. This mid-level role provides subject matter expertise in skills mapping, workforce development, and HR program support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of current workforce capabilities through data analysis, interviews, and documentation reviews.
- Support development of future workforce models and organizational charts.
- Assist in gap analysis reporting and recommendations for reskilling/upskilling.
- Coordinate with internal VA stakeholders to compile workforce-related inputs and data.
- Draft workforce solutions including training programs, career pathways, and onboarding enhancements.
- Monitor implementation of workforce improvement initiatives and provide periodic updates.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Public Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in workforce planning or organizational development.
- Strong analytical and facilitation skills.
- Experience with federal human capital frameworks or OPM standards.
Preferred:
- Experience working in or with VA, DoD, or similar agencies.
- Working knowledge of change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR)
