Overview

This role supports both cloud and edge infrastructure, emphasizing automation, scalability, and reliability across AWS and on-premise systems. The ideal candidate brings strong Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code experience, with exposure to big data environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a focus on EKS
- Support deployment of non-cloud (edge) infrastructure, including on-premise and portable systems
- Automate infrastructure and application deployment processes
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes environments and AWS cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into existing infrastructure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues
- Continuously improve tooling, processes, reliability, and system performance
- Stay current with emerging DevOps technologies and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development
- Strong AWS experience (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda)
- Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise
- Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible
- CI/CD pipeline development and automation
- Scripting and programming experience (Python, Bash, or Go)
- Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management
- Familiarity with Git, Flux, and modern DevOps toolchains
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Ability to work onsite 2-3 days per week in a hybrid environment
Certifications (Preferred / Required)
- Required: DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification (e.g., Security+)
Desired Skills
- Experience with big data technologies such as:
Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Hive, Drill, Impala, Trino, or Presto - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Diode, Terraform, and advanced EKS implementations
