Chronos Operations, LLC is seeking a Mission Assurance Analyst IV to lead advanced mission risk mapping and critical asset dependency analysis to ensure operational resilience across DoD systems. This senior-level role supports the implementation of the Mission Assurance Construct (MAC), integrates Risk Management Framework (RMF) principles, and aligns risk mitigation strategies with mission operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MRT-C mapping and mission-based risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in cyber terrain and operational dependencies.
  • Conduct critical asset dependency analysis to determine mission impacts and prioritize protection strategies.
  • Oversee mission mapping and mission decomposition to identify operational dependencies and risks.
  • Direct cyberspace terrain mapping, data capture, and iterative assessments across operational environments.
  • Develop and maintain Risk Management Plans (RMPs) and Mission Mitigation Plans (MMPs) for DCAs and TCAs.
  • Identify, validate, and prioritize Task Critical Assets (TCAs) and Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI) supporting mission execution.
  • Provide mission assurance leadership for Operational Technology (OT) environments, including Facility-Related Controls and Manufacturing Systems.
  • Support the execution of Mission Assurance Assessments (MAAs) and contribute to the Mission Assurance Risk Management System (MARMS).
  • Establish and govern a comprehensive environment discovery and assessment process, including:
    • On-site mission and facility assessments
    • Oversight of approved discovery and assessment tools
  • Coordination with mission owners, technical stakeholders, and system operators
  • Engagement with senior leadership and decision-makers
  • Ensure development and maintenance of authoritative artifacts defining authorization boundaries.
  • Lead updates and governance of the Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS) in compliance with JFHQ-DODIN 8600-25 and HQDA EXORD 116-19
  • Develop and execute a knowledge management strategy to:
    • Capture mission, system, and risk data
    • Deliver actionable business intelligence and mission assurance insights
    • Enable data-driven decisions across functional and operational teams
  • Provide strategic recommendations to leadership to mitigate mission risk and enhance operational resilience.
  • Align mission assurance activities with RMF and DoD cybersecurity directives.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, white papers, and executive-level reports on mission risk findings and mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving threats and integrate intelligence into mission assurance planning.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Supervisory duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, Information Assurance, or related field. OR
  • Master's degree with 5+ years' experience
  • 7+ years of proven experience in mission impact analysis, critical infrastructure protection, and RMF implementation
    • Must have experience in mission analysis, information security technologies
    • Must have experience with Mission Relevant Terrain in Cyberspace (MRT-C), including resilient C5IM capabilities and critical asset correlation (KT-C)
    • Must have experience with analytical and cybersecurity skills, and a deep understanding of mission assurance (MA) methodologies, cyber defense, and U.S. military operations
    • Must have experience with cybersecurity standards specific to OT/ICS (e.g., NIST 800-82, IEC 62443)
    • Certifications like CISSP, Security+, CISM, and CEH are preferred
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Deep understanding of DoD Mission Assurance policy and related frameworks.
  • Understanding of MADSS, EXORD 116-19, and EXORD 8600-25.
  • Ability to standardize data capture and metadata tagging; implement secure dashboards that visualize TCA/DCI posture, RMF status, vulnerabilities, and segmentation coverage.
  • Familiarity with MARMS, Enterprise Mission Assurance Analysis Portal, and Component Critical Asset Management Systems.
  • Proficiency in RMF, cybersecurity risk assessment, and mission-based asset identification.
  • Ability to assess mission-critical dependencies and develop actionable risk mitigation strategies.
  • Skilled in correlating operational risk with asset vulnerabilities and mission priorities.
  • Knowledge of system boundaries and data flows to inform RMF authorizing artifacts.
  • Ability to support terrain mapping and correlate threats with mission-critical systems.
  • Skilled in drafting recommendations and supporting risk mitigation planning.
  • Ability to supervise, manage, and lead others.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) assessments and MAAP execution is a plus.
  • Background in operations research, emergency management, or cybersecurity strategy is a plus.
  • Ability to meet minimum clearance requirements.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
