Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Principal Scrum Master/ Sr. Principal Scrum Master - 14950-1. This position will be located in Roy, Utah or Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel Program.
As a Principal / Sr. Principal Scrum Master , from the Technical Project Execution (TPE) Department, Software Engineering Directorate, SDS Engineering Functional Homeroom, you will be expected to support large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion that span across functional organizations. Your daily mission is to enable high performing Scrum teams, uphold Agile best practice, and keep delivery flowing toward our business objectives. You will be expected to facilitate scrum ceremonies, maintain sprint backlogs, remove impediments, support/coach/mentor the team, track and report metrics, facilitate communication, promote a culture of inspection & adaptation, as well as other duties as necessary.
As a member of the DevStar Team, Systems Engineering, Integration and Test Segment, Sentinel Program, you will be expected to:
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Scrum Master: 5 years with Bachelor's in related field of study, 3 years with Masters, 1 year with PhD.
Sr. Principal Scrum Master: 8 Years with Bachelor's in related field of study, 6 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Coach and train Scrum Masters and Scrum Team members in the areas of agile planning and execution.
- Coordinate/Lead PI Planning with Sentinel Program to include scheduling and collaborating with leadership on agenda items, facilitating planning sessions, and planning execution.
- Support a range of technical engineering scrum teams with disciplines from: software, hardware, cyber, to test automation.
- Facilitate daily Scrum meetings and regular ceremonies.
- Collect and analyze related metrics for trends and indicators, facilitate iteration/increment planning.
- Provide agile coaching and mentoring at all levels within the organization.
- Lead the iterative solution lifecycle from executable architecture to maintenance, including concept development, iterative design, production, delivery and deployment.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Scrum Master: 5 years with Bachelor's in related field of study, 3 years with Masters, 1 year with PhD.

- Proven experience as a Scrum Master in either: Engineering, Software, or IT/Cyber Operations.
- Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, etc.).
- Proficiency in Agile tools: JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, and MS Excel for reporting.
- Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills.
