What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Program Chief System Engineer to join the Global Securities (GS) team in our National Security Space (NSS) Line of Business (LOB). The GS team supports development and integration of advanced technologies to provide solutions to our national security mission partners' most challenging problems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the system engineering effort on a multi-year development program. Working in close collaboration with the Program Manager, Program Chief Engineer, Space Vehicle and Payload IPT Leads, and program leadership.
The Program Chief System Engineer will be responsible for technical direction, planning, staffing, interfacing with LM senior management, customers, subcontractors, partners and suppliers, and integration and coordination with all functional organizations involved in system design, integration, assembly, test and delivery.
This is a high-visibility position that offers an opportunity to quickly make a significant impact on the future of Global Securities and LM Space.
The position requires a high level of technical and business acumen to balance priorities, drive issue prevention/resolution, and clearly communicate status and needs to our customers/partners, and with both Lockheed Martin and supplier executives.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience supporting the System Engineering organization on a development program
• Experience leading technical teams
• Project management experience
• Experience implementing System Engineering processes and command media
• Understanding of system-level considerations for multi-vehicle architectures and high-performance RF systems for space applications
• Familiarity with model-based engineering (MBE) principles and processes
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles and processes, and their application to complex space architectures through the entire life cycle
• Active or Current Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI access
Desired Skills:
• Experience as Chief System Engineer through the entire lifecycle of a development program
• Experience in a formal leadership role
• Development program management experience
• Recognized as an authority in the implementation of System Engineering processes and command media, with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of sophisticated problems and train others in their application
• Experience with of system-level considerations for multi-vehicle architectures and high-performance RF systems for space applications
• Experience implementing Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) on a development program
• Experience with Systems Engineering principles and processes, and their application to complex space architectures through the entire life cycle
• Experienced or familiar with technology obsolescence management
• Active or Current SCI access

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
