Description:You will be the F-35 Aircraft Structures Technician for the F-35 Field Modification Team which is responsible for sustaining and enhancing the airframe of the world-class F-35 fleet. This position is located at Luke AFB, AZ.
What You Will Be Doing
As the F-35 Aircraft Structures Technician you will be responsible for executing precision maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structural components while collaborating with a skilled sustainment team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform heavy depot-level maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft structures and major sub-assemblies.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet-metal and structural components using precision measuring equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and structure repair manuals to identify aircraft locations and required actions.
- Execute bonding operations and verify material conformity to specifications.
- Operate material testers and mixers, record data, and maintain a clean, FOD-free work environment.

Further Information About This Opportunity
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an interim clearance to start and have the ability to obtain a Final Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
This position may include certain required health screenings and immunizations. Position may also require extended work hours. Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist. Confined Space Entry.
Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must be experienced with understanding technical requirements on fighter type aircraft.
- Candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
- Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders.
- Must have been previously awarded a 5 or 7 Skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or Marine MOS discipline rating or an equivalent Airframe and Power Plant, FAA certificate.
- Candidate must have experience with bonding of aircraft parts, assemblies and materials on complete and incomplete aircraft, where methods and operational sequences are not established.
- Must have experience with Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
Desired Skills:
- Candidate must be able to accurately identify and operate tools associated with drilling and reaming precision holes utilizing hand tools and tooling fixtures.
- Must have working knowledge of proper identification, installation and inspection of aircraft structures, sub-structures, hardware and low observable coatings.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
