This role brings together Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury to strengthen execution, improve cross‑functional alignment, and ensure financial insights directly support decision‑making. The Director will elevate consistency across the team, reinforce best practices, and play a central role in advancing the company's mission and long‑term financial objectives.
What You'll Do
- Leadership & Operational Excellence
- Oversee and streamline day‑to‑day finance operations, including close cycles, reporting, and AP/AR
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Treasury leaders to ensure alignment and smooth execution
- Lead process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and risk management
- Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning
- Strengthen the connection between FP&A insights and accounting results
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Accounting & Reporting Oversight
- Provide secondary review and support for financial close and reporting
- Scale internal controls and compliance as the company grows
- Ensure reporting quality, consistency, and timeliness
- Cash & Risk Management
- Support treasury strategy, including cash forecasting, liquidity planning, and banking relationships
- Align cash management with corporate goals and capital needs
- Executive Support & Strategic Initiatives
- Prepare board‑ready materials with strong visualization and narrative clarity
- Partner with the CFO on business partnering, investment analysis, and cross‑functional initiatives
- Represent finance in strategic discussions and company‑wide planning
- Compliance
- Maintain accounting compliance, including leases and revenue recognition
- Ensure FAR/CAS compliance in a government contracting environment
- Oversee tax compliance, including R&D credits
- Support 401k and banking compliance requirements
What You Bring to the Table
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- CPA
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibility
- Demonstrated success leading multi‑functional finance teams
- Strong strategic mindset paired with hands‑on operational capability
- Excellent communication skills, including executive‑level presentation and storytelling
- Experience in a government contracting environment
- Strong understanding of Unanet functionality and configuration
- High technical fluency, including Excel, data flows, imports/exports, and bank feeds
- Confidence working with auditors (DCAA, DCMA, federal, state, local, and independent)
