Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Equipment Specialist supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EB). This role provides senior-level acquisition and program management advisory support for ACAT I, II, and III programs in accordance with DoD and Department of the Air Force acquisition policy. This is a full-time onsite position at Hill AFB, UT.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Assist, prepare, develop, and deliver compliant documentation supporting Logistics and Product Support activities.
  • Support the fielding, readiness, and operational capability of all systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Apply logistics knowledge to design, development, production, operation, and sustainment of armament systems.
  • Plan, develop, and execute product support strategies spanning the full acquisition life cycle from requirements analysis through disposal.
  • Ensure weapons system readiness through effective, efficient, and affordable product support.
  • Consider and integrate all Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements in product support strategy development and execution.
  • Coordinate IPS elements with other logistics providers, including Air Force Sustainment Center, Defense Logistics Agency, and contractors.
  • Optimize supportability, suitability, reliability, availability, maintainability, affordability, and mission capability.
  • Provide direct technical support for missiles, bomb racks, aircraft/SOF gun systems, small arms, launchers, and associated support equipment and containers.
  • Assist munitions and weapons field-level personnel with repair, sustainment, and deficiency resolution.
  • Provide immediate responses to interface activation issues.
  • Advise Single Managers, Major Command Action Officers, and Chief Engineers on operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness (OSS&E).
  • Interact on a technical basis with high-level DoD and/or foreign military personnel.
  • Prepare and present technical briefings to senior stakeholders.
  • Perform prepublication and post-publication technical order (TO) reviews.
  • Conduct validation and verification of TO diagrams and procedures in accordance with USAF TO regulations (00-5 and 00-25 series).
  • Recommend changes or supplements to technical documentation.
  • Identify, develop, and validate technical data requirements for technical manuals, TOs, TCTOs, specifications, and work control documents.
  • Support configuration management activities, including Configuration Control Board processes.
  • Manage and assist with deficiency reporting, investigation, and resolution.


Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have an Active Secret Clearance
Education: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: At least eight (8) years of experience supporting weapon systems

Technical Skills
  • Knowledge and experience in comprehensive logistics support for armament and weapon systems.
  • Understanding of Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements and their interrelationships.
  • Experience supporting missiles, munitions, weapons systems, and associated support equipment.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory directives, guidance, and policies.
  • Working knowledge of USAF Technical Order regulations, including 00-5 and 00-25 series instructions.
  • Experience with configuration management, modification management, and deficiency reporting.
  • Capability to support provisioning, cataloging, and establishment of new items.
  • Experience with maintenance data documentation and support equipment recommendation data.
  • Knowledge of demilitarization procedure development, revision, and testing.
  • Experience with Class V munitions management, software management, and mishap investigation.

Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to provide customer support to field users, lead and using command members, IPT members, and leadership.
  • Ability to interact effectively on a technical basis with senior DoD and foreign military personnel.
  • Capability to prepare and present clear, professional technical briefings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS, including to potentially hazardous locations.
  • Familiarity with CONUS and OCONUS travel preparation and policies.
