Target salary range: $200k-$280k. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

JANUS Research Group is seeking a Chief Systems Engineer at Los Angeles AFB to support the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Lead Integration, Test, and Evaluation with 24/7 Operational Support (FLITE+) program. This role supports system design, engineering and integration, engineering services, information technology professional services, and continuous operational support, all focused on advancing methods that increase the speed and reliability with which the Government delivers software and hardware to operational environments.

The Chief Systems Engineer will:

• Serve as the Chief Systems Engineer and definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering across the enterprise.
• Maintain and drive system architecture, technical baselines, and overall system performance.
• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team and oversee technical performance of the program.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and stakeholders to ensure mission needs, goals, and objectives are addressed.
• Support coordination of Missile Warning system-level requirements, hardware and software design, and verification and validation activities.
• Act as a key stakeholder in major engineering reviews, readiness reviews, and configuration control boards.
• In coordination with the government SEIT lead, ensure the FORGE enterprise adheres to sound engineering processes across development, production, test, and sustainment.
• Maintain cognizance over technical activities within FORGE Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ensure horizontal integration of best engineering practices across the enterprise.
• Coordinate regularly with the government SEIT lead to ensure consistent and aligned technical baselines.

Requirements:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering with 20 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience supporting Missile Warning systems at the enterprise level.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a senior technical authority, systems engineering leader, and trusted advisor in complex mission environments.
