A Global Defense Contractor is seeking a Cleared System Administrator to join their team at Buckley Air Force Base.
This role is 100% on site and you must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Seeking the following levels:
Level 2 (E4): 2-4 years of experience, or a Master's degree in a related discipline with 0-2 years of experience.
Level 3 (E3): 5-8 years of experience with a bachelor's degree , or a master's degree in a related discipline with 3-6 years of experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Proactively monitor system performance and conduct capacity planning
• Perform fault finding using search techniques and analyze log data to detect performance issues
• Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and fixes on Windows servers, workstations, and virtual machine hypervisors
• Create and modify scripts (PowerShell or other languages) to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency
• Collaborate with teams to enhance environmental stability, security, efficiency, and scalability
• Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps based on notes and instructions
• Conduct on-the-job training and informal sessions on system design, data flow, and operational procedures
• Maintain systems within a customer-owned facility, adhering to security and operational standards
• Support 24/7 operational needs, including occasional after-hours duties, under the guidance of the SA Team Lead
• Ensure compliance with security standards, including DISA STIGs
• Update Virus Definitions on EPO/Trellix server and ensure that all clients are running the latest definitions and software.
• New user account creation and troubleshooting of account
Basic Qualifications:
• Security+ certification (must be obtained within 90 days of assignment)
• Experience with Windows system administration both Desktops and Server
• Working with and managing group policies
• PowerShell or other scripting/programming language knowledge
• Experience with authentication systems such as Active Directory
• Windows Hyper-V experience in virtualization
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Active DoD TS/SCI
• Windows Active Directory administration
• Experience installing, administering, and maintaining Windows servers and desktops
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint
• Strong personal interaction and communication skills
• Cybersecurity operator experience
• Network administration skills
• Knowledge of DISA STIG security hardening guidelines
• Satellite Ground Systems operations experience
• Experience with system architecture
• UNIX/Linux system administration experience or Red Hat Linux/AIX knowledge
• Experience with PDQ products or other software deployment tools such as SCCM
Note: While familiarity with Unix/Linux systems is acceptable as a secondary skill set, the primary focus of this position is on Windows system administration within a secure DoD environment
