Job Title: Planner / Estimator

Job Summary:

Serve as the Planner / Estimator for DAWSONs Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Support Services contract supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. The Planner / Estimator is responsible for planning, estimating, and supporting execution of maintenance, repair, and construction-related activities in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and contract requirements.

Location: Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina

Responsibilities:
  • Provide planning and estimating support for facilities operations, maintenance, repair, and construction-related projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, plans, and schedules for task orders involving structural, electrical, and mechanical work.
  • Develop and submit plans and estimates within required timeframes established by the Contracting Officer (CO).
  • Prepare estimates using RSMeans cost estimating software or other Government-approved equivalent software.
  • Develop and update project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.
  • Support project management activities related to task order execution.
  • Coordinate planning and estimating efforts with the Project Manager, Quality Control staff, subcontractors, and Government personnel.
  • Participate in meetings with EPA representatives as required to support task order development.
  • Ensure estimates, plans, and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with contract requirements.
  • Support required reporting and recordkeeping associated with planning and estimating activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning and estimating structural, electrical, and mechanical projects.
  • Experience supporting projects in large or multiple facilities with highly complex mechanical, electrical, and structural requirements.
  • Project management experience.
  • Skill in using RSMeans cost estimating software, or other equal cost estimating software widely recognized in the facilities maintenance and construction industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with Government personnel.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain access to EPA facilities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
