Venatore is seeking an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level air and missile defense expertise in support of combatant command operations, planning, and exercises. This position is based at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, and supports joint, interagency, and multinational efforts. The IAMD SME advises leadership and staff, contributes to strategic and operational planning, and supports the development and execution of IAMD strategies, policies, and contingency plans.

About the Job
Venatore is seeking an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level air and missile defense expertise in support of combatant command operations, planning, and exercises. This position is based at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, and supports joint, interagency, and multinational efforts. The IAMD SME advises leadership and staff, contributes to strategic and operational planning, and supports the development and execution of IAMD strategies, policies, and contingency plans.
Responsibilities
IAMD Strategy, Planning, and Integration
- Synchronize IAMD programs, policies, and procedures.
- Evaluate and coordinate the implementation of command IAMD strategies, plans, and policies.
- Support campaign planning, contingency plans (CONPLANs), and operations plans (OPLANs)
- Lead or assist teams in developing integrated IAMD solutions for current and future operational requirements.
Joint, Interagency, and Multinational Coordination
- Apply military expertise to support high-priority planning and implementation efforts involving joint, interagency, and multinational partners.
- Coordinate with component commands, combatant commands, the Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and other federal departments and agencies.
- Support and integrate regional partner security cooperation activities related to IAMD.
Threat Analysis and Operational Assessment
- Analyze and assess air and missile threats, including ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, as well as crewed and uncrewed aircraft, to U.S. and partner nation forces.
- Develop and coordinate IAMD analyses, estimates, and operational assessments in support of command decision-making.
Exercises, Briefings, and Senior-Level Engagement
- Facilitate command-level IAMD exercise working groups and develop exercise injects aligned with command IAMD objectives.
- Develop, analyze, and coordinate IAMD orders, briefings, and staff products for leadership.
- Effectively communicate and advise senior leaders on strategic and regional IAMD issues, force management considerations, and operational risks.
- Draft, edit, review, and present written and oral products at the General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO), executive, and national agency levels.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to properly safeguard classified information.
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience supporting IAMD operational planning, integration, evaluation, and assessment activities.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience briefing senior military and civilian leaders.
- Ability to lead assigned projects independently while taking strategic direction from senior leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Availability to provide occasional 24/7 surge support as mission requirements dictate.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally; no combat zone travel is authorized under this contract.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Officer (14A) or Warrant Officer (140A/E/K) at battalion-level staff or higher, or as a U.S. Navy Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Officer.
- Prior experience serving on a Combatant Command staff.
- Experience leading and managing operational teams in a military or joint environment.
- Working knowledge of Joint Staff requirements and staffing processes.
- Working knowledge of the Joint Planning Process (JPP).
- Experience working across both intelligence and operations communities.
- Operational, testing, or programmatic experience with IAMD systems such as Patriot, THAAD, Aegis BMD, C2BMC, or related capabilities.
