Job Description:L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Systems Engineer, to support our Next Generation Jammer program. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for lab management and associated support activities for in-house integration and test activities associated with the Next Generation Jammer program. This includes management of program workspaces (office, assembly, test, and storage areas), lab setup, test equipment procurement, test material procurement and construction, calibration tracking and management, resource scheduling, and related duties. Support will be ongoing during the operational life cycle of the system, from initial integration and test activities through low- and full-rate production.
Essential Funtions:
• Manage setup and reconfiguration of labs and test equipment in conjunction with changing integration and test needs
• Connect, configure, and set up test configurations according to written test plans and procedures
• Procure and track test equipment through various channels (purchase, rental, lease) in support of test activities
• Procure, issue, secure, and produce test materials and custom test articles (e.g. cables) in support of test activities
• Coordinate and schedule the use of lab resources (e.g. space, test equipment) to streamline the conduct of coincident test activities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience with electronics test equipment and test support equipment including power supplies and chillers
• Problem solving skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines
• Understand coordination of projects and roles of technical support personnel
• Ability to work independently
