As the MGSE Associate Manager the selected candidate will be responsible for the management and technical leadership of the Denver portion of the MGSE, Central Region Engineering organization. The team is a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of Production, Fabrication & Special Tooling, and MGSE hardware.
The candidate will be required to work closely with numerous internal program teams as well as lead a dynamic, customer-oriented organization and drive, develop or champion resolutions to overcome technical challenges and ensure cost, schedule, and quality standards are maintained.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing a Denver on-site portion of the MGSE, Central team (8-12 team members) and aligning the appropriate support to several programs to meet mission objectives
• Support cost, schedule and technical commitments for direct projects, and support surge efforts as the need arises
• Support coordination and program status meetings to deliver real time status of schedule critical tooling items and activities
• Provide weekly and monthly status updates including presenting to senior and executive leadership
• Mentoring and enabling career advancement and development of subordinates
• Provide active/direct support to select activities (75% of time) while not performing Asc Manager duties (25% of time)
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in development of Production, Fabrication, Special Tooling (ST), or MGSE such as any of the following: Large Steel Structures, work platforms, lifting structures, machine mechanisms, ECS/HVAC, fluid or machine holding fixture.
- Proven ability to lead and work in a collaborative manner to arrive at solutions that support the objectives of the organization and customer
- Demonstrated ability to plan, propose and manage budgets and schedules
- Demonstrated commitment to the development and cultivation a highly motivated workforce
- Demonstrated commitment to the development and deployment of productivity/performance based improvements (leveraging new technologies and leading change)
- Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain and leverage effective Customer/Program relationships
- Proficient capabilities with engineering CAD tools (such as Creo, Solidworks, NASTRAN NX, etc.) and model-based product definition
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.
- Ability to travel (~5%)
- Position requires special access to multiple programs requiring the selected candidate to be a US Citizen. Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Structural and/or Mechanism Experience
- Experience with antennas or electrical component/chassis-level testing
- NASTRAN NX stress experience
- Capture Management/Proposal experience.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural.
- Working Knowledge of EPDM.
- Experienced or trained in Cost Account Management (CAM)
- Experience with Microsoft Project
- Familiar with Lockheed Martin specifications/tools/processes
- Demonstrated commitment to the development and deployment of productivity/performance improvements (leveraging new technologies and leading change)

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
