Overview
ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3009 2026-24541):
Bowhead seeks a Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The Engineering Technician performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
- Provides troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electro mechanical systems and sub systems.
- Ability to work on defective power supplies through dissection, evaluation and then perfrom appropriate repairs.
- Interpret and develop drawings and schematics, engineering support for system operation an analysis. Inventory and logistics support for Crane's testing facility.
- Maintain the technical base of the in-service systems, update parts list for each system and provide technician support in use of systems.
- Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data.
- Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
- Use MACCOR, NHR, and ACCAT Test Consoles to conduct monitoring of test and determine the extent of follow-on repairs if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electronics with a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience is required at a minimum
- Must be 2M certified, with electronics diagnostic experience.
- Must have general knowledge and experience with troubleshooting and repair of electronic and mechanical systems and subsystems utilizing standard test equipment.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Prior experience at NSWC Crane highly preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
