ROLE OVERVIEW
System One is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join our team in New Carrollton, MD. This is a critical role focused on ensuring the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of large-scale applications across both mainframe and web-based environments. You will be responsible for the end-to-end performance lifecycle, from workload modeling to deep-dive bottleneck analysis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Test Design & Execution: Lead the design, execution, and analysis of performance tests using LoadRunner to ensure applications meet rigorous scalability requirements.
• Bottleneck Analysis: Identify system constraints and establish performance baselines through detailed analysis of application and infrastructure behavior.
• Strategic Modeling: Build performance models and capacity planning frameworks to anticipate future growth and demand.
• Cloud & Hybrid Testing: Conduct performance testing within cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and integrate results with web-based and mainframe systems.
• Actionable Intelligence: Monitor system health using tools like AppDynamics or Splunk; translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Forecasting: Produce accurate workload projections and forecasts based on trend analysis and historical system data.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience: 8+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or a similar capacity.
• Tools: Expert-level proficiency with LoadRunner (designing, executing, and analyzing).
• Analysis: Strong background in bottleneck analysis, system tuning, and performance modeling.
• Compliance: Deep understanding of SLAs, KPIs, and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
• Modern Tech Stack: Familiarity with monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Splunk) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Legacy Tech Stack: Practical knowledge of Mainframe performance systems in a web-integrated environment.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
