Job Description :

As the Intel Support Lead of a national defense program space warfighting mission, you will be responsible for a team providing mission protection operators and decision-makers with intel analysis, reports and briefings to warn of counterspace (kinetic and non-kinetic) threats and assessed vulnerabilities to space & ground assets. The Intel Support Lead is a subject matter expert (SME) on terrestrial and on-orbit counterspace threats and will guide research and assessments amongst team members working in an operations-focused Intelligence Division. Your team will work closely with flight safety and mission protection staff and support Indication & Warning (I&W) system integration efforts that progress database accuracy and efficiencies in mission execution. Additionally, the successful candidate will continuously endeavor to close organizational knowledge gaps in an ever-changing space domain environment via committed collaboration, expert collection analysis and balanced resource tasking.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Intel Operation Support team activities and deliver briefings and reports to staff and decision-makers across six geographically separated space operations centers

• Support Collection Management; advise planning and execution of mission

• Research and employ an operational mindset when developing intel assessments and build solutions toward improved organizational space domain awareness

• Support training development as well as strategic and exercise planning efforts

• Collaborate frequently across divisions (i.e., flight safety, plans, mission protection, strategy and plans, engineering etc.) and respond to object and assessment inquiries

• Set and maintain team standards; ensure ops intel analyst team members maintain mission qualifications to execute real world event procedures and exercise scenarios in accordance with approved checklists

• Oversee daily operations, update briefs and provide quality control while maintaining awareness of all significant recent space related and mission-impacting threat activity

• Optimize operational checklist procedures and job aids for crew Intel positions

• Maintain mission qualifications and proficiency in any applicable systems databases

• Lead and/or attend meetings as required; provide SME-level space intelligence knowledge as a resource to senior military and civilian government customers

• Oversee development and delivery of mission qualification training

• Collaborate with stakeholders across internal elements and partner agencies to align intelligence priorities and synchronize mission support

Required Qualifications:
  • 12+ years' relevant experience working in intelligence community and/or military Intel career fields with 4-year degree; 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree; 10 years relevant experience with master's degree in related field; 11 years of experience w/ PhD in related field
  • 6+ years' experience working Defensive Space Control, Intelligence Analysis roles
  • 4+ years' prior National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) experience
  • 3+ years' experience leading analytical teams or directorates in operational environments
  • Active TS/SCI with adjudicated CI Poly or willingness to submit to polygraph examination

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SME-level knowledge of foreign/domestic space & ground system threat capabilities
  • All-source Intelligence, Collection Operations, and/or Acquisition Intel experience
  • Intermediate or advanced understanding of orbital mechanics and mission applications
  • Prior experience assessing threat Resident Space object (RSO) Pattern of Life (POL)
  • Familiarity with space domain awareness (SDA) assessment and visualization tools
  • Previous participation in joint, interagency-level exercise planning and execution
  • Superior oral & written communication skills (w/ strong PowerPoint application skills)
  • Experience advising and collaborating with military and civilian leaders
  • Possess knowledge and experience in understanding international space policy and the rules governing conduct of a space-faring nation

This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated CI Polygraph.
