We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will use advanced design tools to develop precise models and drawings, maintain our library of standardized and off-the-shelf components, and ensure all designs meet established standards and specifications. You will collaborate closely with engineering staff, identify and address process deficiencies, and stay current with the latest design techniques and engineering software.

Job Qualifications
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will use advanced design tools to develop precise models and drawings, maintain our library of standardized and off-the-shelf components, and ensure all designs meet established standards and specifications. You will collaborate closely with engineering staff, identify and address process deficiencies, and stay current with the latest design techniques and engineering software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and layouts in accordance with design and drafting standards, using Creo and SolidWorks.
- Maintain a library of standardized and off-the-shelf components.
- Support the integration, assembly, and testing of mechanical components and structures.
- Investigate design factors such as thermal response, vibration, material selection, and manufacturability under direction.
- Validate designs for conformance to engineering requirements, standards, and specifications, identifying potential issues and recommending improvements.
- Identify and correct errors and process deficiencies, recommending changes as needed.
- Prepare technical documentation, including parts lists, design notes, and test support materials.
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings, presenting findings and supporting trade studies as assigned.
- Maintain current knowledge of CAD software tools, modeling techniques, and state-of-the-art engineering applications.
- Interact with engineering staff on task progress.
- Assist in prototype fabrication and testing support.
- Help maintain configuration control and engineering release documentation.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and company policies, and work safely in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Solidwroks, CATIA, Creo (Pro/E), or IDEAS.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
- Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
