HX5 is currently seeking a CTF Operations Manager (TA) to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Be the senior-level technical lead of a 25-person highly specialized IT team supporting the C2BMC Test Facility (CTF)
  • Assist the CTF manager in the day-to-day supervision, oversight, planning and day-to-day execution of the IT testbed supporting MDA and program level activities and testing.
  • Be the technical lead for all Delivery Team activities in the C2BMC Test Facility.
  • Identify challenges, create strategies and courses of action, and execute them to create a more mature and robust program for our customers and the MDA mission.
  • Ensure technical teams are performing contractual duties within the boundaries of the Performance Work Statement, testbed baselines and developer documentation.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers and cyber experts to identify, analyze, define and solve complex technical problems.
  • Provide technical and system engineering direction to team members as needed.
  • Establish and implement appropriate processes or improve current processes to achieve efficient IT operations.
  • Make recommendations and advise on system development, process development, process improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
  • Ensure proper configuration management practices are followed in coordination with the configuration management team.
  • Provide engineering and technical expertise for the implementation of complex systems to meet operational and testing requirements.
  • Evaluate proficiency and skills of team members to make training recommendations to the CTF manager as needed to improve team performance.
  • Participate in planning, scheduling and technical interchange meetings with developers, system engineers, customers, stakeholders and technical experts.
  • Develop and present readiness and status briefs to internal/external teams, stakeholders and senior government officials.
  • Be able to act as the Lab Manager when required.


Salary: This position is expected to pay $135,000 - $150,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Education and Experience:
  • Must have 12, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have at least 8 years of directly related IT experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
  • Must have knowledge of basic systems engineering processes, risk management, trade studies/analysis, and verification & validation
  • Must have experience supervising IT and technical professionals
  • Must have experience with information technology platforms and concepts (networks, workstations, servers, operating systems, virtualization, maintenance and administration)
  • Must have experience in development and implementation of IT systems
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CySA, etc.) or higher
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance


Desired Requirements:
  • Be familiar with Life Cycle management
  • Be familiar with Project Management or have a PMI certification.
  • Have experience performing duties as a Hiring Manager.
  • Be familiar with the Remedy ticketing system.
  • Have Systems Administration, Network Administration, and/or Network Engineer experience.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
