Markon's partner company is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support the exciting Target Discovery & Tradecraft mission for the Fort Meade Customer. In this role, the engineer will work closely with mission stakeholders to capture requirements, support structured planning efforts, gather and synthesize mission use cases, translate operational needs into actionable roadmaps, and facilitate new data streams to enhance intelligence discovery and analytic tradecraft.

This position requires strong systems engineering expertise, mission-focused collaboration, and the ability to bridge technical solutions with analytic objectives.

Responsibilities

Mission & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with mission stakeholders and technical leadership across directorates to define, scope, and refine analytic tradecraft requirements.
  • Support structured planning activities by documenting mission goals, milestones, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist mission leads with quarterly project reviews, performance monitoring, and program execution reporting.

Requirements & Roadmap Development
  • Capture operational and technical requirements and translate them into clear, actionable implementation roadmaps.
  • Gather, synthesize, and document mission use cases to guide development of analytic capabilities.
  • Ensure alignment between mission objectives and technical delivery plans.

Data & Technical Integration
  • Collaborate across mission organizations to identify, prioritize, model, ingest, and operationalize new data sources.
  • Facilitate the integration of emerging data streams to support intelligence analysis, discovery workflows, and analytic tradecraft enhancements.

Agile Mission Support
  • Work within Agile and other structured development constructs to support iterative delivery of analytic capabilities.
  • Contribute to planning, execution, and continuous improvement efforts across mission teams.


Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph with this customer.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 9+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting mission stakeholders in requirements gathering and systems engineering planning.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and structured project execution frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and operational organizations.


Salary Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
