- Work with team members to design and use existing innovative software programs that improve and simplify the Training Management for the Army.
- Ensure all new software functions smoothly across various programs and platforms, including mobile systems.
- Meet with managers and representatives of Army to discuss software issues and brainstorm methods of solving existing problems.
- Write original code and update existing code, ensuring that all code meets program requirements.
- Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.
- Update and debug existing systems to ensure a smooth user experience and a uniform look across a variety of platforms.
- Optimize new and existing programs for mobile use, including smartphones and tablets.
- Keep up to date on the newest technological innovations in the field and be ready to apply relevant innovations to our software systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI access preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience with each of the following technologies:
- React
- TypeScript
- Java (Spring Boot)
- Strong ability to debug, optimize, and maintain code, as well as automate routine development tasks
- Demonstrated systematic problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication, and a proactive, results-driven mindset
- Familiarity with React and TypeScript, including functional components, hooks, and basic state management
- Working knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, including building or consuming RESTful APIs
- Exposure to frontend unit testing concepts and tools (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, or similar)
- Exposure to backend unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, or similar Java testing frameworks
- Basic understanding of RESTful services and web concepts such as HTTP methods and status codes
- Familiarity with Git and version control workflows (pull requests, code reviews)
- Working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) and basic SQL queries
- Awareness of software development best practices, including testing, logging, and writing maintainable code
- Ability to learn quickly, accept feedback, and collaborate effectively in a team-based Agile environment
- Strong curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to grow technical skills over time
