Overview

The Senior Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical direction, and implementation of complex projects. This individual serves as the primary technical expert and provides guidance to development teams while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and compliant solutions that meet business objectives. The Senior Technical Lead plays a critical role in aligning technical strategies with organizational goals, driving innovation, and mentoring team members.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the technical vision, roadmap for projects and solutions.
  • Provide expert technical direction and oversight across all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure technical solutions adhere to best practices, industry standards, and organizational policies.
  • Lead the development of prototypes, frameworks, and reusable components to accelerate delivery timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements and objectives.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact project success, including scalability, security, and integration challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and organizational growth.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and frameworks to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Recommend enhancements to processes, practices, and tools to optimize team productivity and solution delivery.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, set expectations, and communicate technical progress and decisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure alignment between technical deliverables and project milestones.
  • Ensure technical solutions are compliant with regulatory and industry standards, including security and accessibility requirements.
  • Implement quality assurance frameworks and manage issue tracking to maintain high-quality outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

The qualifications and skills listed below are intended to provide a general overview of the requirements for this position. Additional qualifications, certifications, skills, or experience specific to the client's requirements may be identified and requested upon award of the task order. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to adapt to evolving responsibilities as outlined by the client.
  • Bachelor's-level degree from a recognized college or university in an IT-related or Engineering field. Alternatively, qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • If no degree is obtained, 12 years of experience is required.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience aligning IT systems with organizational business processes. At least five (5) years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience leading technical teams of four (4) or more team members.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressively complex experience and intermediate-level skill in analysis, design, programming, and testing.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or doctorate from a recognized college or university.
  • Nine (9) or more years of experience aligning IT systems with organizational business processes. Six (6) or more years of that experience must have been in a lead capacity.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience leading technical teams of five (5) or more team members.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressively complex experience and intermediate level skill in analysis, design, programming, and testing.
