POSITION OVERVIEW
SkyBridge Aviation is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II to support aircraft maintenance operations at an FAA-compliant aviation facility (HSA Airport, MS). This role involves performing a broad range of inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair activities on aircraft engines and systems to ensure safety, reliability, and mission readiness. The ideal candidate is a hands-on mechanic who can work independently, follow technical documentation accurately, and support a fast-paced maintenance environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on engines, propulsion systems, and associated components in accordance with approved technical data and safety standards.
• Assist with and independently complete complex engine removals, disassembly, installation, repair, and operational testing.
• Execute daily, detailed, pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections, including gf
• Read, interpret, and apply job guides, technical manuals, engineering drawings, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and system discrepancies and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
• Support modification teams and assist leads or supervisors as required.
• Operate hand tools, pneumatic and power tools, calibrated measuring equipment, and ground support equipment such as GPUs, tow tractors, forklifts, and hoists.
• Conduct in-process and post-maintenance inspections to ensure work meets airworthiness, quality, and documentation standards.
• Follow FOD prevention practices and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team members, quality, and inspection personnel to support efficient workflow and on-time aircraft delivery.
• Support additional duties as assigned to ensure mission and program success.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally as operational needs require.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree or technical school education preferred
• Prior military or commercial aircraft maintenance training preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, including engine and turboprop systems
• Experience with corrosion control and preventive maintenance
• Proficiency with pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections
• Familiarity with calibrated tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment
• Strong understanding of FOD mitigation practices
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and engineering documentation
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Navy Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) qualification
• F/A-18 E/F/G Taxi/Turn Operator qualification
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and work platforms for extended periods
• Ability to bend, crouch, crawl, kneel, and work at heights using fall protection
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read gauges, identify small objects, and distinguish colors
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and temperatures
• Must pass required medical evaluations, background checks, and substance abuse screening
