About the Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data architectures that support complex business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Your role is pivotal in transforming raw data into actionable insights by building robust data pipelines and integrating diverse data sources using cloud-based databases. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data quality, accessibility, and security across the organization. This position demands a strategic thinker who can anticipate future data needs and implement frameworks that enhance data usability and performance.

Location: Remote. The selected candidate must be currently located in, or willing to relocate to, one of the states supported by Tripoint Solutions corporate offices: AL, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MN, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA. (No relocation assistance provided.)

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and architectures using modern data engineering frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain Data-as-a-Service capabilities.
  • Implement and manage cloud database solutions to support large-scale data storage and processing requirements.
  • Collaborate with business intelligence teams to integrate BI tools and ensure seamless data flow for reporting and analytics.
  • Monitor and optimize data systems for performance, reliability, and security, adhering to best practices and compliance standards.
  • Lead data engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of data infrastructure and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related role.
  • Proficiency with data architecture frameworks and designing data models for complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud databases such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure SQL Database.
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker and their integration with data pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or data engineering specialties.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex data projects.
