Position requires satisfactory completion of the following explosives safety courses. Upon assignment, the employee will be allowed 24 months to complete the training and recertification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves limited office time, but incumbent spends a considerable amount of time and effort performing onsite training, inspections, surveys, and assessments of AE operating buildings, AE storage areas, combat aircraft loading/parking areas (CALAs/CAPAs), aerial bombing ranges, air fields, piers and wharfs, and vehicle and industrial shops within the AOR. Assessments and inspections required frequent walking, prolonged standing, and occasional climbing, crouching, and kneeling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
In addition to a normal administrative environment, the incumbent will be required to visit AE storage, handling and transfer areas, assembly, loading and maintenance areas including aircraft loading/down-loading and arming/de-arming areas. Will be exposed to mass detonating, fragmenting, and mass fire hazards, operating equipment and machinery, dust, fumes, and high noise levels; high heat and humidity, and extreme cold. Duties require the use of PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection, and hard hat as required.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

- You will develop and conduct regional and local ammunition and explosives safety training.
- You will conduct explosives safety technical assist visits with installation ESO's within 6 to 12 months of their NOSSA Safety Inspection.
- You will analyze AE safety gaps and deficiencies, develop clarifying guidance to higher level instructions and reviews construction design proposals for ammunition and explosive and safety compliance.
- You will represent region at numerous ammunition and explosives safety meetings, prepare correspondence, etc., as well as maintain personal expertise in AE field.
- You will develop, implement and maintain NRSE Explosive Safety Management Program polices.
- You will review and endorse Explosive Safety Site Approval Requests, Construction Worker authorizations, and various waiver requests throughout the NRSE AOR.
- You will provide the ESO functionality in the Installation ESO absence.
