Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Tool and Die Making Manager 2 - Metrology/Tool Maintenance to lead our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at our Clearfield, Utah location.
The Manager Tool Die Making 2 will be responsible for managing DCTs (Dimension Control Technicians) and metrology engineers across multiple programs. They will develop technical product and tooling metrology statements of work. They will also work closely with the Tool Maintenance site leadership to cross-functionally train personnel to more effectively and efficiently support each statement of work. The selected candidate will ensure that projects/designs are completed on schedule and within budget including management of their indirect budget. The selected candidate will ensure tooling/program support of product and tooling metrology inspections for production transition and sustained efforts. In addition, the selected candidate will establish, maintain, and continuously improve processes/procedures to support program efforts by collaborating with other Aeronautics Systems Sector Tooling Management, which will include the following responsibilities:

This will be a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, managing teams across different shifts. This will provide exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment. Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Lead a group of 15 to 25 hourly non-exempt employees, metrology engineers, and/or level 1 managers.
- Manage and coordinate metrology activities across programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed.
- Own responsibility for program and technical performance while providing objective-oriented directions to hard lined or dotted line reporting personnel, utilizing management guidelines & general policies.
- Monitor and manage risk items to ensure mitigating actions are effective and timely.
- Promote Lean, Knowledge Management, and other process improvement initiatives as well as sharing of lessons learned and best practices throughout the organization.
- Manage the following: personnel performance evaluation, merit planning, employee development and training, succession planning, and utilization of EVMS to manage direct costs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries/experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing/aerospace/design/tooling/tool engineering, manufacturing engineering, integration and/or fabrication industries/experience.
- Must have 2 years of prior management/leadership experience.
- Must be available to manage across shifts
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering or Mathematical).
- Previous Supervisory and Management experience in managing large projects, with an emphasis on metrology, machining, tool fabrication, manufacturing, assembly processes, and/or flight hardware production.
- Experience in managing shop schedules with dynamic priority changes.
- Aerospace or Aviation Industry experience managing metrology inspection, machine shops (3,4, & 5 axis), tool fabrication shops, and/or shop flow scheduling.
- Experience with Project Management and Microsoft Office tools.
