Job Description

Performs repairs, testing and scheduled maintenance on a variety of both Structural and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) firefighting apparatus and rescue equipment. Perform examples include, but are not limited to, self-contained breathing apparatus, dive equipment, hydraulic rescue tools, ventilation fans and saws, rescue saws, fire hose, ground ladders and firefighter protective clothing. Other duties as assigned. Develops preventative maintenance schedules for firefighting and rescue equipment - Air Testing / Air Compressors, Gas Detectors, Emergency Water Supply Pumps, Rescue Tools, Ventilation equipment. Perform Testing and Certifications for the following equipment - Ladder, Hose, Nozzles testing and maintenance, Appliances, Structural Pump Testing, ARFF Pump Testing. Performs routine inspections and cleaning of protective clothing. Performs annual - SCBA (MSA) mask fit testing, air pack maintenance, SCBA bottle testing, SCBA (MSA mask and regulator maintenance). Fire Extinguishers. Repair and maintenance to Emergency Vehicle Apparatus systems - Pump, Discharge , Electronic control systems, All non-power train systems. As directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities addendum. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements

High school diploma / GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and minimum of 5-7 years experience.

Other Job Requirements

Experience as Emergency Vehicle Technician for both Structural and ARFF Apparatus and Fire Service equipment maintenance and testing. Knowledge in NFPA 1911and NFPA 414. Must have in-depth knowledge of DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification Program (DODI 6055.06-M) or industrial/ municipal equivalent. To ensure compliance with safety, health and security requirements in the contract, employee will possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions. Must possess a standard issue civilian drivers license, Emergency Vehicle Technician Structural and ARFF Apparatus, MSA Air Pack Maintenance certification (can receive after hiring).
