Overview
Kaukahi, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician Estimator (ISR-I Inspector/Estimator). This role is responsible for conducting facility inspections, preparing cost estimates, and supporting data management activities to ensure accurate infrastructure reporting. This role requires demonstrated expertise in evaluating materials, labor, and equipment costs; developing reliable Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates; and maintaining compliance with project specifications and bid documentation. The Estimator will use ISR Web, RS Means, and other tools to support government reporting and decision-making. Key Responsibilities• Conduct facility inspections to assess building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural conditions.• Prepare reliable ROM estimates using RS Means, bid documentation, and project specifications.• Evaluate materials, labor, and equipment costs for projects and repairs.• Support data input and management activities to ensure accurate reporting in ISR Web.• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, safety regulations, and standards.• Identify and document hazards, defects, or improper construction practices during inspections.• Drive to facilities using a corporate vehicle to complete physical inspections.
Responsibilities
Requirements• High School Diploma or Equivalent • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience preparing ROM estimates for projects and products using experience evaluating materials, labor, and equipment costs, bid documentation, and specifications associated with each project. • Working knowledge of all types of building construction materials and methods.• General knowledge of Federal, State, and local building design, construction, and maintenance related codes laws and ordinances.• Ability to read specifications and building schematics• Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.• Valid driver's license• Demonstrated working knowledge in conducting engineering facility inspection, data related input and data management. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management. • Must obtain and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) at time of the contract start date and throughout employment. The Engineering Technician Estimator shall have the following access roles in ISR-Web:• Infrastructure• Historical Data• Evaluator• Builder Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 25lbs.
