Technatomy is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering support for the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Integration Platform (DIP) - a secure, cloud-native API ecosystem enabling reliable, real-time data exchange between Salesforce and multiple enterprise systems. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, operating, and continuously improving the AWS infrastructure and DevOps capabilities that support a mission-critical integration platform. You will lead complex DevOps initiatives, mentor other engineers, and ensure the platform meets demanding requirements for availability, scalability, security, and compliance in a regulated environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, deploy, and lead the operation of AWS-based infrastructure supporting the DIP platform and its integrations.

• Own platform reliability objectives, including high availability, fault tolerance, and operational resilience supporting 24x7 monitoring and uptime expectations.

• Architect and optimize AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, VPC, Route 53, IAM, and CloudWatch.

• Lead capacity planning, performance optimization, and cost-management strategies across environments.

• Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, operational runbooks, and environment documentation.

• Design, build, and govern CI/CD pipelines supporting Java-based API and integration deployments.

• Lead Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to ensure repeatability and consistency.

• Architect and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes-based platforms.

• Partner closely with software engineering teams to improve build, test, deployment, and release reliability.

• Implement and refine progressive deployment strategies, rollback mechanisms, and release controls.

• Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Datadog, and related tooling.

• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvement activities.

• Drive improvements to observability, resiliency, and operational readiness across the platform.

• Implement and enforce AWS security best practices for identity, access management, and network controls.

• Oversee secure handling of secrets, credentials, and sensitive configuration data.

• Provide technical leadership for activities supporting ATO renewal and ongoing compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with security, governance, and architecture stakeholders to remediate findings and apply platform improvements.

• Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers and see consistent engineering practices across the team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 6-9+ years of experience in AWS DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles, including senior-level ownership of production platforms.

• Deep, hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and services in complex production environments.

• Advanced experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.

• Strong expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.

• Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.

• Strong understanding of networking, cloud security principles, and distributed system operations.

• Proven experience supporting systems with uptime, SLA, and on-call or operational support expectations.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional engineering teams.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:

• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.

• Experience supporting integration platforms, APIs, or middleware ecosystems.

• Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as Datadog.

• Experience operating platforms subject to compliance, authorization, or audit requirements.

• AWS certifications (Professional or advanced Associate-level) are preferred.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

CLEARANCE:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

WORK LOCATION:
