Technatomy is seeking a Junior AWS DevOps Engineer to support the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Integration Platform (DIP) - a secure, cloud-native API ecosystem that enables reliable, real-time data exchange between Salesforce and multiple enterprise systems. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to grow DevOps and cloud engineering skills while supporting a mission-critical integration platform. You will work under the guidance of senior DevOps engineers and architects, contributing to infrastructure operations, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and platform reliability while learning best practices for operating systems in a regulated, enterprise environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of AWS-based infrastructure supporting the DIP platform and its integrations.
• Assist with monitoring platform availability, performance, and reliability under established uptime and SLA expectations.
• Help manage AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, VPC, Route 53, IAM, and CloudWatch under established standards.
• Support routine infrastructure tasks including configuration updates, environment maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with CI/CD pipeline execution and maintenance supporting Java-based API and integration deployments.
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation under guidance.
• Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Assist with deployment activities, environment validations, and rollback procedures as directed.
• Monitor logs, alerts, and dashboards and escalate issues following defined incident management processes.
• Participate in incident response activities and post-incident reviews as a supporting team member.
• Follow established security, access control, and credential-handling procedures.
• Support documentation of infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA, and senior DevOps engineers in an Agile delivery environment.
• Learn and apply best practices related to cloud security, automation, and platform operations.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 1-3 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related roles (including internships or entry-level positions).
• Foundational experience with AWS services and cloud concepts.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar).
• Basic familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Introductory experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and awareness of Kubernetes concepts.
• Basic scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Understanding of fundamental networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP).
• Experience working in or learning Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
• Strong willingness to learn, follow established standards, and take technical guidance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.
• Exposure to monitoring or logging tools such as CloudWatch or Datadog.
• Experience supporting development or test environments in cloud platforms.
• Coursework, certifications, or hands-on labs related to AWS or DevOps practices.
• Interest in working on large-scale, enterprise or regulated systems.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent training, coursework, or practical experience).
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
