About the Role

We are seeking an Expert Deployment Consultant to support the deployment, integration, and activation of private cloud and virtualization infrastructure across classified datacenter environments.

This is a field-focused engineering role responsible for deploying systems at secure DoD sites nationwide. The ideal candidate brings expert Linux skills, deep VMware experience, strong container platform knowledge, and a solid foundation in data center networking and storage.

You will work hands-on with HPE platforms, integrating proprietary and third-party technologies in secure environments while ensuring security compliance, STIG hardening, and operational readiness.

What You'll Do

• Deploy, install, patch, and configure virtualization and infrastructure software on client hardware
  
• Perform start-up and integration of systems in classified data center environments
  
• Deploy and support VMware-based compute platforms
  
• Implement and manage Linux-based infrastructure
  
• Deploy and support container platforms (Kubernetes preferred)
  
• Integrate identity, access, and security controls across multi-vendor environments
  
• Support OS image lifecycle management and STIG compliance
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, integration, and performance issues
  
• Plan and execute the addition of new tools and capabilities into private cloud environments
  
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities
  
• Work onsite at secure locations in rotational travel cycles (typically 1-2 weeks at a time)
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher (Top Secret preferred)
  
• Expert Linux engineering skills
  
• Strong VMware experience in enterprise environments
  
• Strong knowledge of container platforms (Kubernetes)
  
• Working knowledge of data center networking
  
• Working knowledge of enterprise storage platforms
  
• Experience supporting classified or secure environments
  
• Experience with OS image lifecycle, STIGs, and security hardening
  
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex infrastructure environments
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  
• Prior experience with HPE infrastructure and tooling
  
• Experience deploying private cloud platforms in government or defense environments
  

Travel & Work Expectations

• 70% travel to classified customer sites nationwide
  
• 30% remote work between deployments
  
• Travel expenses fully covered
  
• Work performed during U.S. business hours
