Connsci is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer/DevSecOps Engineer with hands-on experience implementing and securing cloud-native architectures in AWS environments. This role supports the design, development, and execution of secure cloud solutions aligned with federal compliance and risk-based security requirements.
The Cloud Security Engineer focuses on DevSecOps, automation, and technical security implementation to support continuous integration, delivery, and authorization of agency cloud systems.
In this role, you can expect to:
• Design, build, and execute cloud-native security solutions in AWS environments.
• Implement and support DevSecOps practices, including automation of security and compliance processes.
• Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS security implementations.
• Research, design, develop, test, and deploy AWS-based solutions supporting continuous integration and delivery in Linux environments.
• Build and execute complex security plans within AWS environments.
• Support compliance and regulatory security requirements in AWS.
• Operate in a risk-based security environment, supporting mitigation planning and implementation.
• Use security and monitoring tools including Splunk, Nessus, Tenable Security Center, and enterprise firewall technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 5 years of IT experience supporting cloud-native architectures and security implementations.
• At least 3 years of experience with AWS services including VPC, IAM, Docker, KMS, encryption services, and automation tools.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting compliance and regulatory security requirements in cloud environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
Must Possess At Least One of the Following Certifications:
• ISACA – Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• ISACA – Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
• (ISC)² – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• (ISC)² – Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
