ClearanceJobs is seeking an experienced System Administrator to support a mission-critical customer in Fort Meade, MD. This role supports large-scale Linux/Unix environments and modern containerized infrastructure in a high-security setting.
The System Administrator will be responsible for administering and supporting enterprise Linux/Unix systems, deploying and maintaining large software environments, and troubleshooting complex system issues. Responsibilities include Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution, implementing and maintaining IT systems, supporting container technologies including Kubernetes-orchestrated containers, administering clustered storage solutions such as Ceph, and managing system configuration and change control using configuration management tools.
Candidates must have experience working in Linux/Unix command-line environments and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ceph, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience, or fifteen years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
An active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required to start.
