Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer to join the Theater High Altitude Air Defense (THAAD) program in either Huntsville, AL or Sunnyvale, CA.
As the Chief Engineer Sr MGR for THAAD, you will:
• Support all phases of the program lifecycle (development, production, and post production).
• Provide technical direction to engineers in all disciplines across the weapon system.
• Have the ability to develop tech maturation plans, as required, for product evolution
• Develop action plans, as required, to brief internal executive leadership, as well as, external customers.
• Working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and must have the ability to successfully execute across a variety of contracts and execute across a variety of efforts simultaneously.
• Perform as a L-coded leader for a portion of the THAAD CE staff ensuring appropriate goals are established and completed, training curriculum is sufficient and completed, and providing feedback for yearly performance reviews.
• The successful candidate must also have ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
• Demonstrated experience as a technical leader, coordinating across multiple teams
• Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully both written and verbally across all levels of an organization from entry level to executive Vice Presidents
• Significant experience in Aerospace and/or Defense Industry
• Detailed knowledge of engineering and program planning throughout development, design, test, and integration phases
• Active Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experience with troubleshooting test failures
• Experience and Familiarity/exposure with a variety of engineering disciplines (software; systems, mech, electrical engineering)
• Prior experience with the THAAD program or similar BMDS
• Prior experience as a Chief Engineer
• Strong Mentoring skills as evidenced through active mentoring relationships
• Proven experience as a conceptual thinker with the ability to translate into action and results.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and build effective relationships
• Strong mission and end-to-end systems expertise
• Demonstrated experience with development and delivery of space sub-systems and components

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $164,300 - $289,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
