Technatomy is seeking an AWS DevOps Engineer to support the Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Integration Platform (DIP) - a secure, cloud-native API ecosystem that enables reliable, real-time data exchange between Salesforce and multiple enterprise systems. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and operational tooling that support a mission-critical integration platform operating at enterprise scale. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, QA, and security stakeholders to ensure DIP remains stable, scalable, observable, and continuously deployable while meeting strict uptime and service-level expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure supporting the DIP platform and its integrations.
• Support high availability and reliability targets, including 24x7 operational monitoring and 99.9% uptime considerations for platform services.
• Manage and optimize AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, VPC, Route 53, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Assist with capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization of cloud resources.
• Document infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and environment standards.
• Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines supporting Java-based API and integration deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Partner with development teams to improve build, test, and deployment reliability across environments.
• Support progressive deployment strategies and rollback mechanisms as needed.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, and related AWS services.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for platform and infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system observability, resiliency, and operational readiness.
• Implement AWS best practices for security, identity, and access management in alignment with platform standards.
• Support secure handling of secrets and credentials using approved tooling and processes.
• Assist with operational and technical activities supporting ATO renewal and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Partner with security and governance stakeholders to remediate findings and apply required platform updates.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 3-5+ years of experience in AWS DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience managing AWS infrastructure and services in production environments.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
• Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python, or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP) and cloud security fundamentals.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments alongside development teams.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Experience working with Federal agencies, particularly the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a plus.
• Experience supporting integration platforms, APIs, or middleware systems.
• Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog or equivalent.
• Experience supporting production systems with uptime, SLA, or on-call expectations.
• AWS certifications (Associate or Professional level) are a plus.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
