Job Summary
- Seeking a strong DevOps engineer to augment the existing platform team for a large analytic cloud repository
- A successful candidate for this position has experience working with large Hadoop and Accumulo based clusters, a strong background in Linux OS development, and a familiarity with open-source technologies
- Additional knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka and CentOS or RHEL would benefit the candidate
- Ideal candidates would have familiarity with open-source products and be willing/able to learn new technologies
- The platform team builds subject matter expertise in a variety of open-source products
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the design, automation, deployment, and sustainment of software and infrastructure systems through modern DevSecOps practices
- Bridge development and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and delivery speed using CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and continuous monitoring
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- 17+ years as a Systems Engineer on projects of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- An additional 5 years of SE experience may be substituted for the degree
- DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher required

- Experience administering Kubernetes cluster
- Experience tuning and managing Kafka
- Experience installing and managing tracing frameworks like Jaeger
- Experience with:
- HELM charts
- ARGOCD
- Ansible
- Grafana
- Prometheus
- Loki
- Thanos
- Apache Hadoop /HDFS
- Python/Go/Java (in that order of preference)
- Linux operating system monitoring and tuning
- Committer/contributor to open-source application
- Agile development experience
