Job Summary

• Seeking a strong DevOps engineer to augment the existing platform team for a large analytic cloud repository
• A successful candidate for this position has experience working with large Hadoop and Accumulo based clusters, a strong background in Linux OS development, and a familiarity with open-source technologies
• Additional knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka and CentOS or RHEL would benefit the candidate
• Ideal candidates would have familiarity with open-source products and be willing/able to learn new technologies
• The platform team builds subject matter expertise in a variety of open-source products

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the design, automation, deployment, and sustainment of software and infrastructure systems through modern DevSecOps practices
• Bridge development and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, security, and delivery speed using CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and continuous monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
• 17+ years as a Systems Engineer on projects of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• An additional 5 years of SE experience may be substituted for the degree
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I or higher required

Desired Qualifications

• Experience administering Kubernetes cluster
• Experience tuning and managing Kafka
• Experience installing and managing tracing frameworks like Jaeger
• Experience with:

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.

The pay range for this role is:

165,000 - 225,000 USD per year (NBP)
