Onsite Job - MH-139/Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Level 4
Location: Malmstrom AFB, MT, 59402 | Job Type: Contract
About the Role
Shape the future of military aviation as an MH-139/Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Level 4. Join a high-impact team supporting the MH-139 program, working directly onsite at Malmstrom AFB. This hands-on position offers exposure to advanced military aircraft systems, dynamic shift work, and the opportunity to lead mission-critical maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, plan, and supervise the maintenance, repairs, and release of MH-139 aircraft
- Lead and manage maintenance teams to meet daily flight schedules efficiently
- Inspect and certify all maintenance activities and ensure Aircraft/Engine Logbook accuracy
- Oversee maintenance control, prioritize project workloads, and support configuration management
- Execute and document the Exceptional Release process and maintain compliance with military directives
- Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Adapt to rotating shifts and support detachments as required
- Certify that maintenance performed is thorough, correct, and complete
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 3 years' experience in an aircraft maintenance environment supporting configuration management and flight release
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in airplane operational and organizational maintenance/flight operations
- O-level maintenance experience
- Proficient in maintenance control responsibilities and logbook certification
- Excellent communication and workload prioritization skills
- Willingness to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends
- Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance (or held active within past 24 months)
Preferred Skills
- MH-139/AW139 aircraft systems experience
- Military aircraft maintenance background
- Experience with Exceptional Release/Safe for Flight certification
- Expertise in AFI 21-101, associated AFIs, OIs, and Command Directives
- 781 Series Aircraft Forms subject matter expert
- Experience in MH-139/AW139 flight operations
- Ability to work in challenging environments (noisy, dusty, temperature extremes)
