During this internship, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain hands-on experience in mechanical engineering
- Support Internal Research and Design (IRAD) programs
- Conduct analysis in support of the reverse obsolescence of critical flight components
Duration and Location
- Duration: 12-week summer internship (May 11, 2026 - August 7, 2026)
- Location: Huntsville, Alabama
- Schedule: Full-time
During your internship, you may:
- Assist with technical tasks related to mechanical engineering
- Support the design and fabrication of automated test equipment supporting US Army rotary wing craft
- Perform component analysis, selection, and integration using Computer Automated Design (CAD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering tools and equipment
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Prior Torch Technologies internship experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Basic stress/strain analysis using ANSYS or the simulation suites inside SolidWorks
- Fluid Dynamics of basic hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D Drafting
- Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) is desired
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen
- At least 18 years old
- Actively enrolled as an undergraduate student at an accredited educational institution
- In good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to commit to a full-time schedule for the duration of the internship
