Job Description:
The ISSE will lead the implementation of the FBI's Security Assessment and Authorization (SAA) program, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the RMF lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of security professionals responsible for RMF implementation.
- Oversee system categorization, security control selection, and implementation based on FBI risk management strategies.
- Conduct security control assessments to validate the effectiveness of implemented safeguards.
- Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity, incident response, and audit support efforts.
- Track and report on security engineering activities, ensuring compliance with FBI and federal standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RMF, NIST guidance, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
- Subject matter expertise in cybersecurity engineering, RMF, and NIST SP 800-53.
- Experience in system categorization, security control implementation, and continuous monitoring.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
Estimated Locations:
- NCR (J. Edgar Hoover Building): Primary location for enterprise systems support.
- HSV (FBI Campus): Support for systems at the FBI Campus.
- CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Systems): Limited presence for CJIS systems.
