Overview
We are seeking a Technical Writer to support a large-scale, fast-paced technical program supporting one of our best customers for a data center modernization project. The Technical Writer will play a key role in producing, editing, and publishing high-quality technical documentation for a broad technical audience.
This role focuses on transforming draft technical content into clear, consistent, and standardized documentation while ensuring accuracy, readability, and proper version control.
Responsibilities:
- Edit, format, and standardize technical documents using established templates when available
- Create documentation templates as needed
- Produce and maintain documentation such as:
Technical designs
Installation instructions
Configuration guides
Runbooks and playbooks
- Ensure documents follow consistent grammar, spelling, formatting, and readability standards
- Manage document version control within project repositories (e.g., SharePoint and similar tools)
- Coordinate with technical team members to obtain clarification, updates, and missing information
- Route documents to content owners for review and approval
- Publish approved documentation according to project manager guidance
- Support a large, fast-moving project with tight timelines
Requirements:
- Strong experience using technical writing and editing tools such as:
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Information Technology systems to understand technical content and context
- Ability to quickly understand draft technical materials and translate them into clear documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams
Nice to Have:
- Experience working on large government or enterprise IT programs
- Familiarity with structured documentation standards and repositories
