• Position: Database Administrator
• Position Type: Onsite in Ft. Rucker, AL
• Clearance: Secret or Higher
Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Implements the full lifecycle of enterprise database and application server systems, services, and solutions, ensuring quality, stability, recoverability, and security.
• Maintains automation solutions and scripts to streamline complex database and application server management tasks across multiple environments.
• Diagnoses and resolves complex issues across large, multi-system environments.
• Develops and maintains documentation for systems, services, processes, and procedures.
• Reviews and validates changes to ensure they do not negatively impact database security or integrity.
• Assists application developers and functional users with database-related problems and requests.
• Serves as a resource for database integration issues, including migrations between disparate databases, data conversion, capacity planning, and new application deployments.
• Provides a Monthly Database Report detailing unscheduled downtime for production and non-production databases, capacity usage, and database activities.
• Performs full database maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, managing table spaces and redo logs, data migrations, performance monitoring, and tuning.
• Administers user accounts for employees and authorized contractors, including creating, granting, and revoking privileges and roles; resetting passwords; locking/unlocking accounts; setting quotas; and managing default table spaces.
• Provides technical assistance to developers and end users for connecting client software to databases, developing SQL and shell scripts, importing/exporting schemas, answering database questions, terminating processes/threads, and migrating data.
• Works with data owners and the ISSO to ensure personally identifiable information (PII) is encrypted in enterprise databases.
• Supports data governance policies by ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and completeness.
• Implements future DBMS requirements, including strategies for big data, relational, dimensional, and unstructured databases.
• Supports data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives, including data mining and data movement, as implemented by the customer.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
• Attain and maintain a secret clearance
• IAT II certification
• 2+ years’ experience with database administration
