Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT, Bellevue, NE, Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.

What You'll Get To Do
  • Systems Engineering senior leadership for the MMIII Secondary Launch Capability (SLC) that includes Command Systems nodes, Support & Training Equipment, System Certification (NS, Airworthiness, Cyber) and Operational Deployment.
  • Driving technical leadership and decision making to successfully achieve key technical program milestones
  • Ensuring technical rigor and quality into product development lifecycle
  • Leading cross-functional integration to enable decision making, problem solving and creating outcomes
  • Primary point of responsibility for MMIII SLC customer leadership coordination for Systems Engineering related topics
  • Driving coordination with key suppliers for Systems Engineering related topics
  • Partnering with other team leaders and supporting functions

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience or 6 years with a Masters Degree in STEM
  • Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Detailed knowledge of MBSE methods and execution practices
  • Experience leading major technical program milestone reviews (ie, CDRs)
  • Experience with Systems Engineering leadership through product development lifecycle
  • Experience leading cross-functional organization
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed organization
  • Experience with change management and risk management through product development lifecycle


These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Experience with program management practices related to cost, schedule and baseline management
  • 3+ years of leadership/program management experience
  • Existing SAP clearance (CJ1 or CJ2)
  • Experience with Sentinel program
  • Experience with MMIII program
  • Experience with Hardware Design, Procurement and Build
  • Experience with Software Design and Development
  • Experience with Hardware/Software Integration (IFC Process)
  • Experience with Nuclear Surety, Cyber and Airworthiness
  • Experience with Communication subsystems


Primary Level Salary Range: $166,000.00 - $276,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
