Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Software Engineering Manager 2 position. The selected candidate will be responsible for the functional management of the software engineering personnel under the NGAS R&AD and Common Products Software Department. The position will report to the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) organization for their assignment tasking. The manager will be overseeing JADC2 personnel specializing in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, Integration, SW Development, and Deployment of manned and unmanned systems in a cloud environment. It will be in Melbourne, Florida.

Primary Level Salary Range: $139,100.00 - $208,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities:
- Conducting performance assessments, staffing, employee development, communication meetings, disciplinary actions, compensation adjustments, training & educational oversight/ approval, and other routine personnel issues
- Responsible for establishing common processes and practices in cooperation with colleague managers across the sector
- Develop requirements and negotiate with the customer where needed; develop designs and software in a team environment; and be able to provide technical guidance for junior engineers, provide leadership integrating software in a laboratory environment, and able to develop the complete documentation set required for the software life cycle
- This role will work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, software development, and management professionals to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency
- Ability to track both the quality and timeliness of the organization's products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems
- Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and make work assignments for indirect tasking
Basic Qualifications:
- Must either have a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related engineering experience OR Master's Degree with 6 years of in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university OR PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years related engineering experience
- Department of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years OR Department of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, documentation, testing, and deployment
- Experience in technical leadership or management
- Experience with DevOps
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cloud Technologies
- Experience with Integrating Cloud Enabled Ground System (CEGS)
- Experience as Agile Scrum Master / Product Owner / Working in Agile team
- Experience with leading or working in Agile teams
- Experience managing a product team and delivering periodic releases in a process-driven environment for a government customer
- Strong C++/Java or Scripting Languages (e.g., Python)
- Previous experience leading a team of 10+ employees with a record of on-time performance
- Previous experience in developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate)
- Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities
- Prior experience with task/resource planning
