Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electrical Engineer and with experience in aircraft subsystems development to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Vehicle Organization. This position is based in Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities involve multiple aspects of aircraft subsystem development including electrical design, analysis, requirements, lab testing and data post processing, and working shipside to help troubleshoot issues. These aircraft subsystems may include, but are not limited to, Avionic System Architecture, Cable Design, and Electrical Power Generation & Distribution.

Position may be filled as either a Electrical Engineer (Level 2)/ Principal Electrical Engineer (Level 3) depending on the qualifications below.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Supporting design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protective requirements for aerospace vehicle systems including Electrical Loads Analysis, test procedures, power architectures, reports, analyses, and other vehicle power related deliverables. Familiarization with MIL-STD-704 is a plus.
- Responsible engineer activities, which include all aspects of system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, system test & verification, and troubleshooting. These activities may also include participating on a subcontractor management team and will act as the technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification, and procurement.
- System level test planning, execution support, verification, data processing, and troubleshooting.
- System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
- Working under general supervision and as part of a large multi-disciplined team.
- Attending internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
- Working in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:
- Engineer Electrical: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 2 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of experience
- Principal Electrical Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline AND 3 years of engineering experience
- Experience in electrical design of circuits and wiring assemblies for air vehicles
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (Interim Top Secret or higher must be obtained prior to the commencement of employment)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with military aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advance aircraft
- Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
- Active DoD Top Secret (or higher) clearance
